The first World Energy Storage Conference officially opened on November 9. With the theme of "Global Vision, Innovative Energy Storage," this conference aims to create a world-class platform for information exchange and cooperation and to promote high-quality development of the energy storage industry. 


At the conference, the China Machinery Industry Federation awarded Ningde the title of "China's New Energy Battery Capital". The city of Ningde vows to take this honor as an opportunity to continue to pursue the high-quality development of the new energy battery industry, take scientific and technological progress as well as innovation as the driving force, and take market demand as the guide to accelerate industrial upgrading and structural adjustment, further improve product quality, and continue to promote the brand strategy. It aims to turn the city into a world-class new energy and new material hub with a world-class cluster of competitive industries through leading technological innovation in the sector, making greater contributions to the development of the new energy battery industry. 


The World Energy Storage Conference 2023 is an important platform to promote cooperation in the energy storage industry. A total of 63 new energy projects, especially energy storage projects were signed, with a total planned investment of 119.12 billion yuan (about 16.34 billion U.S. dollars).

At the main forum, Xu Niansha, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, Ilina Radoslavova Stefanova, head of IRENA Coalition for Action, Thore Sekkenes, head of the European Battery Alliance, Wu Minghong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Wu Kai, chief scientist of CATL, shared their views on the high-quality development of the energy storage industry from a global perspective.

Wu Kai, chief scientist of CATL, said: "To achieve high-quality development, the energy storage industry must be reliable and sustainable, and this philosophy is embedded in CATL. Firstly, a robust safety system is the cornerstone for ensuring reliability and sustainability of energy storage industry; secondly, establishing empirical standards is the key to realizing reliability and sustainability of energy storage industry; finally, ecosystem integration is the fertile ground for achieving reliability and sustainability and represents the future of energy storage industry."


The energy storage industry has a promising future. Leveraging the platform of the World Energy Storage Conference, CATL will collaborate with the upstream and downstream industries to foster innovations, collaboratively building a reliable and sustainable new energy storage industry and striving towards a greener and better future.
